Advertising Campaign
Objective of the Event
Students will prepare an advertising campaign of any service, product, company or business, then present the campaign to a prospective client/advertiser selected by the student (assign role to the judge).
Students select their own client, indicate an appropriate budget amount, and select their own media.
Learning Outcomes
- Use written communication in forms and reports.
- Collect information, obtain facts and ideas.
- Write clear attention–getting advertising copy.
- Develop advertising/promotional budgets.
- Develop an advertising/promotional plan.
- Plan and schedule advertising/promotions.
- Demonstrate the application of advertising principles and techniques to the business environment.
- Organize and present ideas and concepts effectively in a clear and logical order.
- Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of customer/client needs.
- Accomplish objectives as a team (where appropriate).
Other Characteristics
- This is a one–to–three person event.
- Students must prepare a 10–page written prospectus according to guidelines.
- Students must prepare a 25–minute presentation of the advertising campaign; question and answer period is included in the 25–minute time limit.
- Event has NO test.
- Event includes the presentation of analysis to judge.
- Students are encouraged but not required to use presentation aids including computers and other technologies.
