Business Law
Objective of the Event
Students will analyze a real–world case law situation that deals with marketing/business activity, then presenting solutions/recommendations to a professional (judge) with experience in business.
The following areas of business law may be covered in this event: contracts, sales and product liability, torts, agency/employment, intellectual property, cyber law, real and personal property, and the debtor–creditor relationship.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop a heightened focus on a topic in Business Law.
- Understand and appreciate the purpose of business regulation.
- Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of case law.
- Organize and communicate legal ideas and concepts effectively.
- Use critical thinking skills to synthesize case law into workable material.
- Accomplish objectives as a team.
Other Characteristics
- This is a two–person event.
- Students may use a lap–top computer in their presentation, but they are not required.
- Additional visual presentation aids are also allowed.
- Event has NO test.
- Event includes the presentation of analysis to judge.
