Fashion Merchandising & Marketing
Objective of the Event
Students will perform marketing and management functions
and tasks in retail establishments; wholesale establishments
and manufacturing firms primarily engaged in the marketing
of clothing and related articles for personal wear and
adornment.
Learning Outcomes
- Apply marketing/management principles and techniques
to the fashion merchandising and marketing industry
and organizational environments.
- Analyze situations, organize thoughts and identify
solutions.
- Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of general business
and industry specific concepts.
- Organize and communicate ideas and concepts effectively.
Other Characteristics
- This is a one–person event.
- Additional visual presentation aids are not allowed.
- Event includes a 100–question test.
- Event includes a role–play with judge.
Representative Job Titles
Assistant department manager, assistant buyer, special
events director, training manager, assistant fashion
coordinator, supervisor, department manager, assistant
manager and buyer (with management responsibilities).
