Fund-raising

Raising funds is a necessity in any organization. Fundraising income is commonly used by Delta Epsilon Chi chapters to carry out chapter projects and activities and to attend conferences. A well-planned sales project or fund-raising campaign will not only generate funds for the chapter, but it can also give a very meaningful learning experience for chapter members. Below are some suggested guidelines:

Assess Your Funding Needs

Before you begin any fund-raising, be sure to set a goal of how much money you will need to raise to carry out activities. Consider what activities, conferences and events require money. Then, develop a budget for each event. Sample ICDC Budget

Investigate Fund-raising Options on Campus

Ask your student activities office on campus about what types of fund-raising activities are allowed. Be sure to abide by all regulations regarding fund-raisers because many campuses have restrictions on items that your chapter may want to sell. For example, if your chapter is considering selling candy bars, check to see if there are any restrictions because the same type of candy may be sold in campus vending machines and the vendor may have exclusive rights on those items.

Quick and Easy Fund-raisers

Know a few college students who hate to clean their dorm room and/or apartment? Well, you can capitalize on their dirtiness! Check out the Dorm Busters Fund-raiser for details on how your chapter can set up a fund-raising program targeted at those who don't like to clean up after themselves.
